To mortal eyes, the manor house, in this wealthy section of Alpine New Jersey, seems like just another Tudor home, large enough to indicate wealth, yet not quite a mansion. To the eyes of the fae, Caer Falken looms as a castle of glittering white marble, with towers, turrets and the makings of a story book setting.
Pennons and banners adorn the walls and turrets. Many are green with the golden eagle sigil of House Gwydion, the House to which the Lord within has pledged. House Fiona, the House of Queen Mab, the ruler of the Kingdom of Apples, to which this holding belongs, is represented in Scarlet cloth with the silver lion emblazoned thereon. A dark banner, depicting a dire wolf head and sword of icy, blue flame is the standard of the keeper of this freehold, the Count Hemlock Autumnsbane of House Gwydion, Destroyer of the Wolf of Grey Shadows. This is the seat of power of Bergen County, New Jersey.
Found in an old notebook, kept by the Boggan, Gunther, the Hall Steward, are two documents. One is a rough map of the Castle Grounds, the other, a floor plan, showing the layout of the Freehold. It is labeled in places, showing the lodgings of various guests, servants and even the guards. The documents are crude, most likely created with the technology available prior to the 21st century, but is shown here as an archival snapshot of history.
